Butterflies and butter cream

This was Emma's birthday cake and she was having a full cake and corresponding cupcakes. Take 3 tasty scrummy cake layers and I gave them a nice crumb coating. While that is drying a bit...

Top and decorate the cupcakes. In this instance they were raspberry flavour butter cream, gold glitter and a rice paper butterfly.

Ripple the buttercream all the way round and as I went I posed the butterflies in the ripples before the buttercream dried so they stood out from the cake.

A birthday message bow just finished off her cake. I hope the cakes and cupcakes were a nice addition to Emma's birthday, happy birthday Emma. If you live in Malvern and would like to enquire about a cake for any special occasion such as birthday or wedding, drop me an email at rebeccaknight642@gmail.com. I would love to make something beautiful for your celebration.

White chocolate butterflies.

These are a sneak peek at some of my own handmade decorations for tomorrow. White chocolate run-out butterflies.

There will be more on the cake tomorrow which will add to the (quite grown up) girly pretty feel to the birthday cake.

Butterflies

My friend Lyndsay whom I'm doing the birthday cake and cupcakes for tomorrow found these. She wants them on the cupcakes and I think they are so pretty and definitely very girly! They are printed rice paper butterflies and I've not used these before and they were a great find, she let me know that she found them on toppercake.co.uk.

A new friend...

Today two good things happened. My facebook page posts were getting through finally, so now I can have a flourishing facebook page! And my new friend Lyndsay popped over to give me some rice paper butterfly decorations that she wanted on the cupcakes. I'd not seen these decorations before and they are a great find, and they will look super effective. It was also good to see Lyndsay, and I am looking forward to getting to know the people who I make cakes for. Lyndsay and I had a great initial get together over coffee to chat about what she wanted for the cakes, and I look forward to getting to know other people in the process of creating beautiful cakes for their special occasions.

Facebook page with issues!

I have now set up a facebook page too! http://www.facebook.com/BeccaKnightCakes. Its only just started and I'm very excited about it. Unfortunately I seem to have a problem with facebook's captcha check that makes sure posts to pages are genuine. I've used captcha before and know how they work and it seems to matter how many I do, every one is wrong and I can't post to my own page! Its making me very sad and I hope it gets fixed soon! In the mean time find and like my page and very soon it should be flourishing!
