Glyn the cellist turns 80
This was Glyn's cake, it was a light fruit cake inside (very heavy!) and it was trimmed with gold ribbon and small shell trim. The peach writing was also brushed with gold. I was told that Glyn used to really enjoy playing the cello so I modelled a small cello for him! The cello was modelled in marzipan and I was quite glad with how it looked! Having never modelled a cello before-let alone knew exactly what one looked like- I think I managed to get the details like the bridge, 'f' curls, tuning pegs and scroll fairly accurately! I hope Glyn had a great 80th birthday.

Mint Cupcakes

They were chocolate cupcakes with a special mint chocolate fudge topping. The chocolate fudge recipe is a special secret family one handed down from my Nan. Mint chocolate flavour needs pale mint coloured decorations!

On the plus side, the birthday girl hadn't realised what I'd been fishing for when I'd asked about cake flavours so they were a total surprise which was good!

All cakes should live in harmony
This was the set up for Harmony Kingdom's order and I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I had met Andrea at a business presentation and at the time I joked that my business could provide her business with cakes, however Andrea was kind enough to remember me for their business launch and I am very grateful. The cupcakes were vanilla and peaches & cream, the big cake was a vanilla sandwich cake.

Easy as A B C

This was Farley's cake for her dedication and it was a lovely morning. Farley had a beautiful little dress on and a cute smile on her face. As for the cake this was all her mum's idea. Ellie had a clear vision for what she wanted and I was more than happy to bring it into reality. One block was vanilla sponge, one was chocolate and one was carrot cake and then Ellie had thought what she wanted one each A, B, C block.
I must say that this wouldn't have been my first thought of design but it was a very interesting cake and I enjoyed making it.
